Take it or leave it.
Opportunity may surpass the every day chances
Forcing frustration to dive into my thin skin
And Seep through my veins.
My brown locks might begin to fall to the floor with every
Inkling of the devil’s stress induced poison
But When I hear the cries of failure,
When I see the doubt in their eyes
And feel the prickling pain of broken promises.
I wake up.
Voices are screaming in my head.
Their avocations permeate me
To break away from their hold --
Which bars my life
Those deceptions that surround my every being
Are only illusions
What you believe is who you will become
If you swim against the current
And trust you can survive—you will
Ordinary people do extraordinary things every day
Average is the burden. But being average doesn’t matter.
Its what you do with being average that proves a theory wrong
It’s what one does—despite everyone else’s contentions.
A life that revolves around “cans” and “cannots”
Tell me I can’t- I’ll show you I can
A life is only as good as the person who lives it.
Where opportunity has surpassed me
I will create my own path.
Your lack of faith—you may think—might bring me down
But it only propels me further
When I want it bad enough
When I need it more than the competition
When I expose my dedication, ambition, drive
The word unattainable ceases to exist.
The sky is the limit
So I reach for the stars
With your motivation of failure trailing behind me
